random stuff from today (July 2)

We went to something resembling an army surplus store, the following pins caught my eye. I also saw t-shirts that had pictures of Osama bin Laden with a bullet target aimed between his eyes, and stickers that displayed tidbits of wisdom like "World Peace through Military Victory" and "Gun Rights are Civil Rights". Other fascinating stuff included Confederate hats and flags. Due to the length of time it takes to load photos I won't put on any more of them for now. But yeah, it was... interesting.

Although the paraphernelia is certainly representative of the views some people in Arizona, I have met many people in Tucson who are not at all like that. Ernie actually told me that people in Tucson and Arivaca (a town very close to the border) are more sympathetic to the migrants than many in Phoenix and other cities further from the border.

Two new NMDers who came into Tucson, H and her boyfriend J.
